Volunteer

Volunteers play a vital role in our program. UBC’s Learning Exchange and Frontier College have partnered with us to help provide academic tutors. Support from individuals in the squash community and the community at large is very welcome. If you are interested in helping our program as a volunteer, there are a lot of opportunities to become involved:

Academic tutors: Volunteers are needed to work with our students on daily homework assignments. Subject areas include basic reading, math, science, and computer skills.

Squash coaching: Volunteers are needed to coach, drill, and practice with the students on court. Coaching certification is preferred but not required, and players with a passion for the game and a minimum C playing level are welcome to apply.

Community Service: Volunteers are also needed to help with our community service events and cultural trips. Once every 6-8 weeks on Saturdays, our students will take part in projects that give back to the community, such as helping out at food banks, and will have the opportunity to visit museums and science centres. Volunteers are welcome to come share their community spirit with our students in these projects.
