 ABOUT US

Coastal Squash is an after-school enrichment program for inner city youth. The organization was founded in the fall of 2007, when it was incorporated as a non-profit society. We began to work with inner-city students in Vancouver in the winter of 2010.

Our Mission

Our mission is to promote academic, athletic, and personal growth through a program of squash instruction, academic tutoring, and community service opportunities.

Our Goals

  • to improve academic performance
  • to build self-confidence, encourage good sportsmanship, and increase overall athleticism
  • to teach the benefits of commitment, focus, and discipline

Through their commitment to the program, students will receive year-round involvement in tutoring, squash, mentoring, travel, fitness, nutrition education, and community service.

Partner Schools

We have partnered with Strathcona Elementary and Seymour Elementary schools in the Vancouver School District, and we are exploring partnerships with other inner-city schools.

Facilities

Three racquet clubs have generously offered us space for the program: Bentall Athletic Club, Vancouver Racquets Club, and Sport Central in Richmond.
